Finawear would just like to take a moment to thank you all for your patience, your understanding of the postal situation in Canada and thank you for your support. It is much appreciated. We have done our best to work through this, and being new at this, we hope we were able to keep you happy as a customer.

First, let me acknowledge the Coast Salish people and their unceded territory on which I conduct my business. T'oyaxsii'y 'niisi'm!
Amma Sa (good day to you)! My ancestral name is Wihl Buun, which translates to the "Splash made by the Whale's Tail as it hits the ocean". I am Shar Wilson. I am of Gitxsan and Nisga’a descent.

Indigenous peoples are of one heart but we do not share one culture. As Gitxsan people, we have always adorned our clothing with symbolism and form line that tell a story. As a Gitxsan artist, I create in form that was vetted 1000's of years ago. Throughout the years there have been many changes but the one constant through the years is our art.

The misappropriation and cultural appropriation of Indigenous Art is a serious issue that we face today. Therefore, I present to you cultural appreciation by way of FINAWear, authentic wearable Indigenous art. FINAWear is printed, hand sewn and manufactured in Canada.

Each piece is created because of a personal story or is representative of a story from my Gitxsan / Nisga'a nations. By creating, I hope to open a space for respectful dialogue. By sharing, I bring the strength of my Ancestors and our spoken history to the present. Through my work as an artist, I hope to elevate our sameness and provoke change one thought and one legging at a time.
The starting point of this journey was in a dark place marked by the loss of my youngest son, Jordan. He was 17. I lost a part of my heart. Yet, through the guidance of Creator and a call to the Universe, I find myself here, creating Indigenous art and apparel. I found inspiration in my ancestors and the grief and love for my son, Jordan. I share this only to bring hope to you if you are on a similar journey.
With a prayer, a dime and hard work I am pleased to offer these wearable pieces of art. I am proud of my work and I am ready to introduce FINAWear to the world. I extend an invitation to each of you to join me on this journey. Thank you for your time! T'oyaxsii'y 'niisi'm!
Shar Wilson, Wihl Buun. Owner / Founder of FINAWear
